About the Artist
I was born in Perth, Western Australia in 1944. My father was a U.S Navy sailor from Alabama. He left Australia with his war bride mother in 1947, and after a short stay in rural Alabama, eventually settled in Birmingham, Alabama where he spent the rest of childhood. I attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1967. I later returned in 1972 to receive my Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering.
After getting married in 1968, my wife, Gene, and I moved to Virginia where I went to work with the Naval Air Systems Command. In 1980, I enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College to study art in the evenings under the tutelage of Jay Orbeck.
I now reside in Madison, Alabama where I continue to work in the aerospace field on computer model simulations and paint in my spare time. Some of my favorite subject matter includes astronomy and wildlife. My son put together this site to showcase several of my paintings, from my earlier works to my very latest creations.
